Similar Common European Framework of Reference as the NEF Intermediate
but ideal for student who have completed the Intermediate course.

In the NEF Upper Intermediate English language course, students will learn:

• To understand the main ideas of complex text on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in his/her field of specialisation.
• To interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain for either party.
• To produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects and explain a viewpoint on a topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options.

But the course acts as a bridge between Vantage and Effective Operational Proficiency

You the teacher will need the NEF Upper-intermediate student's book, the NEF Upper-intermediate teacher's book, the NEF Upper-intermediate workbook, and also the NEF Upper-intermediate class audio.

All the student will need are the NEF Upper-intermediate student's book and the NEF Upper-intermediate workbook.
